Secondary School Application Deadline (Current Year 6)

Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,

Applications for secondary school places starting in September 2026 are now open.

To apply, you must submit your application by 31 October 2025 through your home local authority’s website. This applies to children currently in Year 6 (who were in Year 5 last academic year).

How to Apply

- Find your local authority: Use the postcode finder or visit GOV.UK to identify your local council.
- Apply via your local authority: Even if applying for schools in another area, you must apply through the council where you live.
- Research schools and criteria: Admission criteria vary, and places are not guaranteed.
- List your preferences: Rank your preferred schools in order. Use all available preference options to improve your chances.
- Submit by the deadline: Applications submitted by 31 October 2025 will be considered on-time.
